Where can I serve clients?
BODEWRK is live in New York City. You set your own travel radius — serve the neighborhoods that work for you. Live across New York City — availability varies by neighborhood as our founding network grows. Tell us where you are so we know where to expand next.
What insurance do I need?
Professional liability insurance — also called malpractice or beauty liability coverage. That is the policy that responds if a client claims they were harmed by your service (burn, cut, reaction, negligent treatment). It is not health insurance, car insurance, workers’ compensation, homeowners/renters insurance, or a salon-booth policy that only names a shop address. Upload a current Certificate of Insurance in your legal name before you go live. It must list professional liability and cover the services you will perform, including mobile / in-home work. A combined professional + general liability certificate is fine if professional liability is listed. You can create your account first. Insurance is a BODEWRK platform condition before your first job, not a New York license exam requirement and not required at signup. We do not sell insurance and do not name a carrier. Confirm coverage with your own carrier. This is not legal advice.
What percentage does the platform take?
10–20%, tiered by service cost, on bookings processed through the platform, plus about 3% card processing paid by professionals.
Can I set my own rates, schedule, and travel radius?
Yes. You control your menu, pricing, calendar, and travel radius. Clients only book slots you open, and you can decline requests that don’t fit.
